Supply List:  English I Pre-AP
You will need to purchase copies of the following books.  Any
version/publisher will do, I suggest that you search online and in
used book stores to find some great deals.  You may also find copies
of these books on the shelves of friends and family—just make sure
that they know that you will be writing in the book before you borrow
the book from them.  New copies of many of these books can be found in
the school reading section of Books-a-Million.
-Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury
-To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
-The Odyssey, by Homer
-Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare
-A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare
You will also need the following school supplies:
* Hard cover three ring binder with pockets (1 inch or wider)
* Five dividers to separate each section of the notebook
* One subject spiral notebook or a composition book (this will be used
for warm ups)
*A planner
* Two ball point pens—blue or black ink
* Pencils
* One highlighter
* Loose leaf notebook paper
* If possible a Flash Drive—the cheapest version should suffice.  You
should be able to pick one up for about ten dollars.  We will be doing
a number of technology projects and this is a handy way to store
documents and presentations in one portable place.

Summer Assignment Directions
1.  Read the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.  Please mark any
questions you might have as you are reading since we will be
discussing the novel at the beginning of the school year.
2.  Respond to the 2 blog questions posted on my website.  When you
respond, please use only your first name and last name initial.  To
get to the website do the following:  go to the Lakeland High School
main page at http://lakelandhighschool.com/ and click on the link at
the top that says Students then click on the link in the right hand
column  that reads assignments online.  Then click on my last name
DeWitt.  Then click on the link that reads Blog Pre-APE I and respond
to the posts.
