2009/2010 - THE YEAR TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
CLASS NEWS!
September 11, 2009 - Ms. Atkinson and Mrs. Powell are so pleased to announce
the debut of the Mad Scientists program today. Mrs. Tomasso, Mrs. Fuchs, and
Mrs. Walters combined their efforts and energies to create fabulous hands-on
science activities and experiments highlighting our current focus on Matter.
As one class was delightfully involved in that activity, the other class was
engaged in extending their math knowledge through the Sunshine Math program.
This opportunity was made possible by the exuberant and tireless efforts of
Mrs. Luthy and Mrs. Chappell.
Be sure to thank these dedicated moms when you have the chance.
We look forward to continuing these enriching experiences throughout the
year.

readings by posting book reviews and ratings. Classmates are then able to
read those reviews which in turn help them choose their next book to read.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
Remembering that this is our "Year to Make a Difference", the first service
project that our classes will be involved in is "Cell Phones for Soldiers".
This extremely worthwhile endeavor is actually a cell phone recycling
program. The students will be asked to collect used cell phones which can be
any condition or brand and do NOT need batteries. These will then be
forwarded to the Cell Phone Recycling Center in MI. Please support this
cause. More information will be coming home soon.
