Math Fact of the Week: 4+4

Below you will find a Suggested Schedule of Activities. All homework is sent
home on Mondays and due on Thursdays. You may schedule the activities to
meet your family’s needs, as long as the homework is returned by Thursday.

SUGGESTED SCHEDULE:

Monday: Practice the sight words by playing a game. Complete a Spelling
activity from the Tic-Tac-Toe board. Complete the Math practice sheet.

FEATURED GAME: GAMEBOARD FUN

GAMEBOARD FUN
Use a gameboard from any game to practice
new and old sight words. Turn the word cards face down. Take turns reading
the words, then spelling each word. Move your marker each time you say a
letter in the word. For example, pick up the word "was", read it, then spell
it, "W - A - S spells was." Move three spaces then say the word again. Have
Fun!

Tuesday: Practice all math facts and sight words. Complete the family
Language Arts activity and a Spelling activity from the Tic-Tac-Toe board.

Wednesday: Read the assigned book(s). Ask comprehension questions such as:
What happened first, next, last? Who was the main character? What was the
problem? Has anything like that ever happened to you? What would you do if
it did? Return the book(s), bag and signed pink slip on THURSDAY. Complete a
Spelling activity from the Tic-Tac-Toe board. Practice all sight words and
math facts.

Thursday: Study Spelling words for the written test tomorrow. Practice
the new and previously sent home math facts for the TIMED fact test
tomorrow. The test will include all facts previously sent home. The goal is
to complete all 30 problems in 3 minutes or less. Practice the sight words
for automatic and quick recognition.
