Hi. My name is Mrs. Chagnon (pronounced "shon-yo"). My husband Kevin and I
have two children, Bailey and Kylee. Also, we have two cats named Jazz and
Jasper. They are a lot of fun! We like spending time together as a
family and enjoy outdoor activities inluding camping, biking, swimming,
running and hiking.
I grew up in a small town in Vermont and graduated from the University of
Vermont with a BA in Elementary Education. I have continued my professional
development by participating in various workshops, attending conferences,
and collaborating with peers.
My teaching experience has been in North Port. I have been a first grade
teacher for fifteen years. I enjoy teaching the primary grades. The
children are eager and so full of life!
First grade is a very impressionable year. Concepts learned help lay the
foundation for future school success. I hope that my presence in your
child's school life provides a positive influence and instills a love of
learning.
My mission is to create a positive learning environment with high
expectations where children accept challenges and are free to take risks. My
goal is to instill a lifelong love of reading by providing a literacy rich
environment that encourages students to get "hooked on books."
