WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE!!!
First grade is an exciting and foundational year. Your child will learn and
refine many of the skills that will provide the basis for success throughout
his or her academic career.
Each day we are building on what the children already know as we learn new
concepts and extend our knowledge.
Our classroom is considered the AWC classroom which stands for advanced work
classroom. This does not mean that your child will be given more work. What
it DOES mean is that your child will be challenged and the expectations are
higher.
The acronym P.R.I.D.E says it all: pursuing rigorous intellectual discovery
everyday!
Meet the teacher day is on Friday, August 21st from 4-6pm. I hope that you
and your child will be able to attend. During this time, we will have the
opportunity to meet and you and your child can explore his or her new
learning environment.
