I am so very thrilled to be embarking on another awesome year at
Lamarque Elementary! I have been a teacher my whole life, starting at age
six, teaching my younger brothers to read and add. To continue my passion
for education as a "grown up" is a blessing.
I graduated from Florida Southern College in April 2000 with a Bachelor
in Science, Elementary Education. Since then, I have achieved
National Board Certification in 2006, obtained my Master's Degree from Nova
Southeastern University, and will finish my gifted endorsement through the
county this Fall.
This is my ninth year teaching elementary aged students, eight of
which have been in first grade. First grade is my favorite grade level
because it is one of discovery and excitement. I enjoy reading and wish to
instill that same desire in my students.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy boating, shopping, eating out, and
spending time with my family.
The mission for our class is for each student to meet and exceed his/her own
goals academically, socially, and emotionally. As a teacher of young
students, I aim to instruct each child on his/her academic level and engage
them in activities to challenge them and move them forward by creating a
learning environment that is nurturing and hands-on. I strongly believe
that if I set high expectations for each child, he/she will be determined to
meet them. I hope you and your child are excited to join me on the up-
coming academic journey this year!
