The LNS Junior Odyssey has been very busy these past weeks. Please encourage 
your student to continue to work on their math timed test as well as reading 
to earn their AR points toward their goal.

The Junior Odyssey Spanish classes meet 1-2 times weekly for 30 minutes, By 
the end of this school year, the students will be able to understand basic 
structures for daily communication; be able to respond to simple questions 
and commands; read and write in simple sentences; and describe or demonstrate 
customs from various Spanish-speaking countries.

Students have learned their colors; they have learned to count to 100; and 
they have learned the names of many Spanish speaking countries. They have 
learned to ask and to tell their names and to talk about how they feel.

Currently, the students are learning to spell and do math in Spanish. The 5th 
graders are doing fractions, and the 3rd and 4th graders are doing simple 
arithmetic. They are also learning to talk about the different subjects they 
are taking in school.

We use songs and videos along with our workbooks to support the Spanish 
program.
