Book Poster!
Think of the posters you have seen advertising movies at the movie theater.
Their purpose is to attract your attention and CONVINCE you to buy a ticket
to see the movie. You are going to create a similar poster for an AR book
you have just read. The purpose is to PERSUADE all your classmates to read
the book!! From the options below, select the ones that most appeal to you
and add up to 100 points. (*** must do these items)
1. Title of book and author (LARGE and spelled correctly*** 15 points
2. Setting: A description of the time and place*** 10 points
3. Characters (Starring......)
List all main characters up to 6 characters 10 points
4. Character Traits - a paragraph describing the protagonist,
physically and what he/she is like (7-10 sentences) 15 points
5. Summary - summarize the book’s plot in a paragraph 15 points
6. Illustration - draw a picture of a favorite character,
favorite part, the setting, your own idea 25 points
7. Conflict - write a well-developed paragraph describing
the main conflict of your book (7-10 sentences) 15 points
8. Write a slogan for your book to catch the reader’s attention!
Make it large and colorful!! 10 points
9. Time Line - make a time line of at least ten important
events in your book - arrange it creatively 25 points
10. Vocabulary - list seven words (that you do NOT know)
from your book and their definitions. Use each word
in a sentence. Underline/highlight each word. 15 points
11. Write an ACROSTIC poem describing the main character.
It must be at least eight lines. 10 points
12. Rate your book - 1 to 5 stars - 1 being the worst and 5
being the best. Explain your rating in a few sentences.10 points
Use only one side of the poster board. Whatever needs to be written can be
printed directly on the poster board - or printed or typed on a separate
sheet of paper and then taped to the poster.
Spelling counts! NO PENCIL!!
