We are lucky to have six Master Gardener volunteers working with the children
in Horticulture Class. Master Gardeners are trained by Sarasota County
Cooperative Extension and work to promote good horticultural practices in our

Bob Burtwell also won a national award last year. He was named Gold Honoree in
the MetLife-sponsored "Senior Volunteers Enrich America" Awards. We were flown
to Washington D.C. to receive his award that included a $2500 cash award for
our school.
