We are lucky to have six Master Gardener volunteers working with the children in Horticulture Class. Master Gardeners are trained by Sarasota County Cooperative Extension and work to promote good horticultural practices in our community. CONGRATS TO our volunteers awarded Senior Volunteer of the year at LNS: Bob Burtwell, 2002-2003 Linda Kenfield, 2007-2008 Peg Witek, 2008-2009 Bob Burtwell also won a national award last year. He was named Gold Honoree in the MetLife-sponsored "Senior Volunteers Enrich America" Awards. We were flown to Washington D.C. to receive his award that included a $2500 cash award for our school.
