I was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey which is exit 13 on the NJ turnpike.
Parents, if you have ever seen the Sopranos you will see Tony passing exit
13, which is the exit for Elizabeth. This part of New Jersey is heavily
populated and a melting pot of cultures. I moved to Sarasota when
I entered high school. I am a graduate of Riverview High School. I have a
graduate degree in education from the University of South Florida. I
completed my doctorate in educational counseling at Argosy University in
2000. I love the process of teaching students. I enjoy what I do and I
can't think of anything that I'd rather do than teach.
My teaching certifications include: Guidance, K-12; Elementary Education, K-
6; Gifted Endorsement, K-12; Emotionally Handicapped, K-12; Psychology, 9-12.
Mrs. Park
Our wonderful Mrs. Janet Park has been a member of the Laurel Nokomis ESE
Support Staff for the past 11 school years. She enjoys working with the
students and watching them "grow."
Mrs. Park and her husband, Skip, hail from northern New York where she
attended SUNY Morrisville. Skip is a retired Army veteran. At his numerous
duty stations Mrs. Park worked with children.
Mrs. Park and her husband have 3 children; Nicole, a teacher at Sarasota
Middle School; Sara, a lawyer employed by the US Army as a Federal Court
Liaison; and Travis, a hydrographic surveyor. Two grandchildren, Kaitlyn(3)
and Logan(2) keep their Grandparents "young at heart." The dog, Zeus, and
cat, Ibbles, round out the family unit.
To provide a quality education to our students so that they become
responsible members of our community. To inspire students to become
stewards of the environment.
