Rob Millner has been teaching all levels of music classes for 34 years. He
holds a Bachelor of Music Degree (1974), a Master of Arts Degree (1977), an
Educational Administration Degree (1989)and is licensed for elementary and
secondary levels. Mr. Millner and Mrs. Millner have one child, Lisa.
Accomplishments: Mr. Millner traveled with the Long Island Youth Orchestra on
five world tours to 36 countries playing principle trumpet. He has played
pipe organ in various countries throughout Europe and currently plays at his
local church, Venice Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Millner produced and
directed a cable television program in 1983 entitled "Music 'Round the World"
drawing upon his musical experiences and travels. Mr. Millner resided in
Independence, Missouri where he was President of the local MSTA/CTA, on the
board of the Japanese Sister City Committee, and held various committee
positions
on the state level of the Missouri State Teachers Association for 12 years.
Awards:
1. Presidential award from Ronald Reagan(pin)for "Outstanding Junior High
School";
2. Outstanding leadership award from the MSTA;
3. Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR)award for outstanding essay;
4. Outstanding Cadet (of 200 cadets)from the Allied Nautical Cadets;
5. Excellent service from The United Methodist Church - Venice Fl.
4. selected to conduct The United States Air Force Band (1983) as recommeded
by Senator Dan Marino (New York).
Mr. Millner currently plays trumpet in the Venice Concert Band under the
direction of his father, William Millner. He also plays for dances with the
Bill Millner trio.
