Hello KA Families,
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you as the Homeroom Parents for KA.
Our names are Lorraine Angel and Melissa Dunn. Our children, David and Thomas are classmates of
your child in Mrs. Woodward’s class.
There are a lot of special events coming up in the next few weeks! Here are some of the highlights to
keep in mind:
• The MHR Book Fair is next week from Tuesday, Sept. 8th thru Friday, Sept. 11th. We are in need of
two volunteers to work our class shift on Tues. Sept. 8th from 7:30am – 9:30am. Please, let one of us
know, as soon as possible, if you are able to volunteer. This is your first opportunity to earn service
hours!
• Open House will be on September 10th at 7:00pm in the Parish Center. You can earn one service
hour per family for attending Open House.
• This year’s adult dinner fundraiser is The MHR Tailgate Party. The event will be held on Saturday,
September 19th. This is another opportunity for you to earn service hours by donating items for the
auction (i.e. soda, beer, wine, and food items).
• We are also actively seeking parents to assist us in the cafeteria during the weeks of October 12th –
October 16th and January 11th – January 15th. The shift runs from 10:30am to 1:15pm each day. This
is a great way to earn service hours, and visit with your child during his or her lunch! If you are able to
volunteer, you can sign up for a shift during Open House, or contact one of us to have your name added
to the list. (Please, remember that you must have completed your Safe Environment Training and be on
the “approved” volunteer list before signing up for cafeteria duty.)
We look forward to meeting and working with each of you this year. Please, do not hesitate to call or
email us if you have questions about service hours, or to volunteer for any of the events described
above.
