Happy Thanksgiving!

The cool temperatures arrived and some of us (me!) love it! I had to send out a note to let you
know how very impressed I am with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders typing! The new program I found
(it is on my links page) is awesome! They love it and are learning the keys and which finger to
use for which key. I am very impressed with them. Many of the students have told me that they
are practicing at home and it shows. I will be continuing the keyboarding for a few more weeks
but I will be interspersing some fun holiday activities as well.

The 4th graders are researching Florida explorers for a power point that they will begin working
on within the next few weeks. 5th graders are just completing their power point and will be
presenting their work next week. I will not be introducing anything new until after the holidays
however the computer learning will not take a break. There will be keyboarding (typing) practice
in some form throughout the busy holiday season.

6th graders are working on a project using power point on different cultures. This has been a
very interesting project that is teaching them a lot. This 6th grade class is a group of amazing
learners and fun to teach. The 7th graders are just finishing up a presentation project on the
Middle East which is very important for them to learn about in this current world. 8th grade is
doing a really neat project on saints. They will be sharing all that they learned with younger
classes in the days ahead.

The typing assignments that were turned in were incredible! The recipes made me hungry and the
thank you letters to God made me cry and laugh at the same time. Please remind the students that
they have one more left for the second quarter.

Thank you for all you do and for your support.

God Bless you and your family,

Mrs. Miesje Flach
