During the month of November students will participate in a Mystery Genre Study that coincides with our Inferring Unit of Study.
Readers were divided into 4 Detective Partnership Groups and were assigned a mystery to solve during Independent Reading Time. Each group of Reading Detectives is solving a different mystery.
Books were chosen from an assortment gathered by the teacher based on reading level and interest. These are the books that were chosen:
DETECTIVE CASE FILES
During their first Detective Club Meeting, student reading detectives were introduced to their book and received a Top Secret Case File. The Case File included the book their group will be reading, post-it notes to record thinking and questions along the way, a Detective's Dictionary to be able to talk the "lingo" of detectives, a suspect list, a Detective's Note-taking page, and a Reading Detective Badge.
