Scholarships

HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIP is for students graduating 2009 and demonstrate 
financial need. They must show that they have overcome personal adversity. 
You must apply online at www.horatioalger.com/scholarships.  Deadline is 
October 30,2008.  Awards range from $2,500 to $20,000.

ARTS RECOGNITION AND TALENT SEARCH  offers access to over $33 million in 
college scholarships and awards in the area of dance, films and video, 
instrumental music jazz music, photography, theatre, visual arts, voice and 
writing.  To qualify you must be a graduating senior, majoring in the arts.

AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP  will be awarding $670 million in scholarships 
to students who have demonstrated high achievement through thier 
acccomplishments in High School It is merit, community service and need 
based.  Deadline: December 15, 2008  Download and print this application at

BARBIZON SCHOLARSHIP AWARD will be offering up to $100.000 for more

COCA-COLA SCHOLARS FOUNDATION awards up to 250 college scholarships totaling 
$1,800,000.  50 awards at $20,000 payable over 4 years.  The remaining 200 
awards are for $4000.00 also payable over four years.  Information and the

you can call them at 1-800-306-2653.  The deadline is October 31, 2008.

COMMON KNOWLEDGE SCHOLARSHIPS  These scholarships were developed and 
administered at Nova Southeastern University, the Common Knowledge 
Scholarship Foundation (CKSF) awards scholarships to students through 
internet based quiz competitions.  There is no essays or applications.  
Students in grades 9-12 can go online and register to compete at wwwcksf.org

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS  is for graduating seniors of African American, 
Hispanic American, American Indian/Alaska Native or Asian Pacific American.  
You must be a U.S. Citizen entering a US college as a full time degree 
seeking student.  Minimum 3.3 GPA.  Must demonstrate financial need.  Pell 
grant eligible.  Forms and information at http://www.gmsp.org  Full tuitions 
and expenses are awarded.  DEADLINE January 12, 2009 at 11:59 p.m.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM is for graduating seniors of Hispanic 
heritage.  US citizen or legal permanent resident of US Be enrolled full 
time in a degree seeking program at an accredited college or university in 
the US.  Minimum 3.0 GPA.  Financial need and community service.

$2,500  Deadline: February 18,2009

HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides provides the Latino community with

JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP is for African American graduating 
seniors based on academic merit, leadership and community service.  $7000.00 
per year.  Go to http://www.jackierobinson.org/  The applications will be 
available on Sunday October 15th.

MAS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIPS  are available to Cuban American Seniors.  The 
amount of the award is based on financial need.  For more information,

NROTC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM  You must be a US Citizen between 17-23.  Allows 
the student to earn a degree and they can choose from over 160 colleges 
across the nation.  Minimum SAT 530 Reading, 520 Math or miniumum ACT 21Math 
and 22 Englich.  Recommendation letters required.  Essays For full details

OUTSTANDING STUDENTS OF AMERICA  Must be a senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA, 
active in community service and school activities .  Submit a biography and 
essay with application.  Information and application available on line at

October 10, 2008

PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS honors young people in middle and high 
school for outstanding volunteer service to thier communities.  You can 
apply on-line at www.prudential.com/spirit  Deadline October 31, 2008

RON BROWN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM  is a merit based scholarship for academically 
talented and highly motivated African Americans who demonstrate financial 
need.  They award $10,000 annually for four years.  Go to 
http://www.ronbrown.org/Apply/ApplicationDownload.aspx  The Ron Brown 
Program has two deadlines  November 1st the application will be considered 
for the Ron Brown Scholar Program and fowarded to a select number of 
colleges and scholarship providers and January 9th is the final deadline.

RONALD A HAMMOND, GOLDEN DRUM SCHOLARSHIP is merit, community service 
based.  20 full tuition scholarships for attendance at either FIU or UM.  
Must be a senior of Black/African descent a citizen and Florida resident

deadline is January 30, 2009

SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP is merit and community service based.  All 
applicants must  be enrolling in an engineering proogram , be a citizen of 
US at the date of application and fulfill minimum GPA and test scores.

SUNTRUST OFF TO COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP is for high school seniors.  They are 
offering $1000.00 scholarship for first year expenses.  One winner will be 
chosen every two weeks from October 31, 2008 through May 15th, 2009

THE HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE PROJECT is a national essay contest for students 
in the 9th - 12th grade and are a US Citizen.  First place winners will 
recieve a 5 day all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. and a chance of a 
scholarship ranging from $1000 - $5000. Deadline April 30th.

THE CASH OPPORTUNITY FUND SCHOLARSHIP  is for graduating seniors who have 
faced a challenge in thier lives.  (poverty, academic failure, illness)
2.0 GPA, must be college bound, community involvement, two letters of 
recommendation Counsler-teacher recommendation form, Essay.  This 
scholarship will award $200.00 each semester(ecluding summers) up to four 
years.

FORD SALUTE TO EDUCATION  is for high school seniors and offers $1000.00 to 
160 students.  Students may apply in one of eight categories, Athletics, 
Language Arts and Foreign Language, Leadership/Service, Math/Computer 
Science, Natural nScience, Performing & Visual Arts, Social Science, 
Vocational/ Technical   3.0 GPA , US Citizen or permanant resident.  
Deadline Jan30,2009  On-line applications available October 1, 2008 at

KFC COLONEL"S SCHOLARS  is for high school seniors with a minimun GPA of 
2.75 or higher enrolling in a public in state college or university. Must be 
a U.S..Citizen. $5000.00 per year for four years.  Applications will be 
available on-line December 1,2008 through February 10,2009

BROAD PRIZE SCHOLARSHIP is a scholarship for graduating seniors who have 
shown academic progress from 9th to 11th grade.  GPA of 2.75 and will be 
enrolling in a college program in 2009.  You must demonstrate financial need.
Deadline is Decemer 12th and returned to the CAP Office.  CAP office has 
applications.

AIA/ AAF MINORITY/ DISADVANTAGES SCHOLARSHIP is open to high scool seniors 
who will be studying architecture at an NAAB accredited program. Financial 
need is considered. 20 awards ranging from $500-$2500. Must be nominated by 
school by December 8,2008.

AMERICAN ACADEMY OF NEUROLOGY is open to high school high school students, 
and is a neuroscience creativity prize. There are 5 awards, with $100 each 
plus books. The deadline is November 3, 2008.
