Welcome Back - Please remember to check the announcements each morning. Also, check
your
individual class page for current assignments and changes.

What I expect: All students should be prepared to do college work. I expect
attention,
preparation and commitment to excellence in everything you do in this class. All
assignments
and communications should reflect your commitment to professionalism, including proper
grammar,
spelling and etiquette. In addition, all assignments should be submitted in word
processing or
email format as directed.

What do you need: You will need to bring a pen or pencil each day, a notebook and a
flash drive
(to back up your work) – a folder will be provided for your work.

All papers must be in MLA format. Please refer to the Office 2003 textbook (pg WD
130) and the
Owl at Perdue website (Links) for information on how to format your papers.

Grading Breakdown and Policy (REVISED 2/6/09)
Your grade will be based on the following:

PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR DOCUMENTS - No Name = No GRADE
I record a zero for missing documents and mark them as late. It is not my problem
that you did
not name your document correctly and/or did not put your name inside it. Please refer
to the
procedures for how you are to submit your documents. Remember the Essential 5!

Words of Wisdom

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-
Royce would
today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing
everyone
inside.--Robert X. Cringely

It is of interest to note that while some dolphins are reported to have learned
English up to 50
words used in correct context no human being has been reported to have learned
dolphinese. --
