LANGUAGE
We are learning how to decode words, write sentences correctly (begin with a capital letter, have ending punctuation, and it must make sense), reading with accuracy, fluency, and appropriate speed.
Have your child read to you daily to improve their reading skills.
MATH
We are working on order/compare height and weight, and compacity.
A variety of strategies will be used to solve problems.
(Speed drills)
Speed drills are timed. (5 seconds per fact) Speed drills are graded, and count as a test grade. When your child memorizes the math facts in their resource folder, they will build a very strong foundation.
You may download the Math Evaluation Sheet that I emailed last week here,
to help your child study.
Speed drills will be given twice weekly.
Remember to send a healthy snack daily
along with a filled water bottle.
*REMEMBER: Always ask your child about their day in school daily!!!
