ANIMAL HABITAT PROJECT
As part of a culminating activity for our animal unit, each student will create an animal project.  On May 7th, your child will select an animal to research.  This project has four components 1) fact collection, 2) a written report, 3) a shoebox diorama, and 4) an oral presentation.

I respectfully ask that you will guide your child in researching about their animal and creating a diorama of it's habitat.  I have attached a form to help your child in the collection of data about their chosen animal.  I would suggest they work a little bit each night completing this form
By the weekend of May 12th, your child should be ready to work on the diorama.  Lastly, the students should write a report about their animal in paragraph form.  This project is due May 24th.   Students will present their project to the class and should be able to read their report independently.  If you have any questions regarding this assignment, please do not hesitate to ask.
What is a diorama?

Take Your Parent to School Night is Wednesday, May 30th at 6:00pm - 7:30pm!  I will be showing a movie of class pictures at the beginning of the evening. The show will begin promptly at 6:00 pm and will be approximately 25 min. in length. This will give you enough time to visit other rooms (if necessary).  The whole family is welcome to attend.  I know that you will enjoy seeing your child on the big screen.

Luau Party

I am putting together an end of the year Luau Celebration for the students on the last full day of school, June 6th.  I am in need of approved volunteers for this event and there are several items we need donated.  It would be wonderful if each family could send one item from the list.  Just log on to Volunteer Spot or click the button below and check out the Luau Party Activity Requests.  If you would like to help with the event or donate materials it would be greatly appreciated.  We are going to have fruit and marshmallow kabobs with dipping sauces.  There will be hula dancing, limbo and other fun activities.  Just a reminder, younger and older siblings are not permitted to attend this event, nor are babies in strollers.  Only approved volunteers are permitted to attend this event.  Please let me know in advance, if you will be attending.
