How can I contact Mrs. Simpson?

The best way to contact Mrs. Simpson is by sending a note to school with 
your child. You can also email Mrs. Simpson at:  rsimpson@dadeschools.net
You will receive a reponse Monday-Friday.

What should I do if my child is absent from school?

 Upon returning to school you should send in a note explaining why your 
child was absent. You have 3 days or the absence will be considered 
unexcused.  The note should be handed in to Mrs. Simpson. Please refer to 
your Parent Handbook regarding excused absences.

When is my child considered tardy to school?

School begins at 8:30 each day.  The classroom door is open at 8:20 to allow 
the children time to get ready for the schoolday.  If a student arrives 
after 8:30 they will be marked tardy.

What supplies are needed daily?

Each child needs 2 pencils everyday to use in class.  The children also need 
a checking pen/pencil to check their work daily.

Does Pinecrest Elementary School have a uniform policy in place?

Yes, Pinecrest Elementary is a mandory uniform school.  The children should 
wear their uniform everyday, unless it's a special event for the day.

How and when can my child celebrate his/her birthday at school?

Birthdays may  be celebrated with their HOMEROOM class during lunch time.  
Our lunch time is from 10:30-11:00 daily.  Please notify Mrs. Simpson of 
your plans ahead of time.

Can birthday party invitations be handed out in class?

No, it is suggested that invitations to parties be mailed. Class lists will 
be made available within the first two months of school.
