Welcome to my bio page! I'm so excited that you could stop by to learn a
little bit more about me. My name is Bobbi Tweedle and I am a kindergarten
teacher here at Redeemer Christian School.
I have an extensive background in the educational realm. I received my BA
in Elementary Education from St. Leo University in May of 2002. Since then
I have been teaching mostly elementary grades. In 2002 I was asked to be a
part of a wonderful second grade team at The Villages Charter School. In
2004 God blessed me with the opportunity to join Redeemer Christian School
and their ministry as the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher. It
was truly a memorable experience, and I was saddened by the fact that I made
a move to the public schools in 2005. However, while working in the
public school system I was able to be a part of a wonderful initiative
called Project CHILD. This gave me a great multitude of experiences.
Because my heart was always with Redeemer I couldn't stay away long, and in
2007 I was given the great opportunity to join the ministry here once
again!
Although all of these things happened while I was a "degreed" teacher, my
love for education started long before. While still in high school I was
President of FFEA (Future Florida Educators of America). A few years after
graduating high school, I was a part of a group called AmeriCorps, America
Reads! which is much like the Peace Corps (only we serve on a national level
as opposed to international). We started a reading initiative and remedial
program in four of Marion Counties' schools during the 1998-1999 school
year. While a member of AmeriCorps I was elected the InnerCorps Council
Member and was able to attend numerous in-services and conferences with the
Florida Commission on Community Service, that focused not only on community
service, but education as well. After completion of AmeriCorps I attended
Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN for a year. While there I
created and directed a community tutoring center; I worked hand-in-hand
connecting local struggling school aged children to college students for
tutoring sessions. While I was working on my BA at St. Leo I was blessed
with the opportunity to teach the sweetest group of three-year-olds at
Little Friends Preschool and Kindergarten.
On a personal level in September of 2007 I gave birth to a wonderful little
boy whose name is William. He has been a delight and a joy; I couldn't have
imagined anything in life being as great as motherhood!
To make a positive difference in the lives of children, primarily through a
personal relationship with Christ and to assist them in achieving their
highest potential as they grow to become: Christ-like, confident,
compassionate, educated and passionate individuals by providing a Christ-
centered, academically focused class environment.
