Do you love helping others?  Do you sometimes have spare time during your week?  Would you like to be involved in your child's school?  Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions we have a job for you!

BECOME A RIDGECREST VOLUNTEER!

We have many wonderful school volunteer opportunities available such as tutors, classroom helpers, chaperones, field trip drivers, media and computer assistants just to name a few. Our volunteers allow us to do so many more things for our students that we could not do without your help. The best part is the feeling you get knowing you made a difference in the life of a child. Whether it's one hour or 100 hours, every second counts.

In addition to school volunteer opportunities, PTA has volunteer opportunites available. All of the PTA functions directly benefit our school and students. Getting involved in PTA is a great way to meet other parents with similar interests and to show your support for Ridgecrest Elementary.

AVAILABLE PTA VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Hospitality Representatives:

Each classroom has a Hospitality Representative for PTA. This individual is responsible for coordinating the class's snack day, which entails contacting other parents within the classroom and asking them to donate food to be brought into the Teachers Lounge on your designated snack day. It's a great way to get to know the other parents in your class and also do something really nice for our teachers. If you are interested in being your child's class Hospitality Representative, please email Michelle Mason at mimason@earthlink.net.

PTA Beautification Chairperson:

Each year your PTA takes on a beautification project. In past years the PTA has spruced up the campus by weeding, mulching, planting new plants and creating butterfly gardens. This is a great opportunity to get involved and have some fun with other Ridgecrest families. If you are interested in learning more about this position, please contact Kris Hungate, PTA President at khungate@me.com.

All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Registration Form to be eligible to volunteer. Returning volunteers must update their information by signing into the volunteer computer located in the front office. If you have questions regarding volunteering at Ridgecrest Elementary, please contact our Family & Community Liasion at 588-3580 or visit the Volunteer Section of Ridgecrest Elementary's website.

Once you are a registered volunteer and ready to take on an assignment, make sure you sign in on the volunteer computer, get a visitors' badge and log your hours. If you complete volunteer work at home, simply keep track of your hours and log them into the volunteer computer when you get a chance.
