What should I do if my child is sick?

A child who is unable to attend school due to illness must bring a written
note from a parent/caregiver when they return to school, to be given to
their teacher. The note should explain the reason for the absence and the
date/dates of absence. Without a written note the absence will be
considered unexcused. Unexcused absences can result in academic penalties.

outside of the Media Center. Please make sure your child's teacher knows if

How do I pay for breakfast and/or lunch?

Money may be sent daily, however we strongly recommend that multiple meals
be purchased by check (include student/teacher name on check). If you send
money with your child, place it in a sealed envelope with the child's name,
teacher's name and the student lunch number. If you prefer you may stop by
the cafeteria before school to deposit money on your child's account.

What happens during a Lock Down?

Occasionally we receive a call from the Sheriff's Department informing us of
a situation that requires a Lock Down. We have a very specific process when
this occurs and have practiced it to ensure it is done quickly and safely
each time it arises. When we receive a call from the Sheriff's Dearptment
an announcement is made over the intercom and on walkie talkies. Teachers
take all students into a classroom, lock the doors, close the blinds and
turn out the lights. Students are instructed to stay still and away from
windows and doors. All outside doors are locked and the administrative team
is positioned in the halls to observe, all while remaining in constant
contact with the front office and Sheriff Department. The safety of our
students is our top priority!
