Recreational Home Reading
READ to SUCCEED!
Welcome back parents and students to a wonderful world full of adventures, thrills, mysteries and fantasies. Welcome to Ridgecrest Home Reading!
What is Home Reading? Home Reading is a program designed to encourage students to read at least 20 minutes a day, 20 times a month. If a child fulfills this requirement, they will receive an award each month. The following are some of the awards given out courtesy of your Ridgecrest Elementary PTA: Free Personal Pan Pizza Bookmarks Pencils
Each month you, as a parent or caregiver, will need to sign your child's agenda for each day read, and record the amount of time read. Our goal is to help children develop a love of reading through the many genres of books. To accomplish this goal we need your help and support. Sit down with your children and read while they read. What parent or caregiver doesn't need to sit back for 20 minutes a day and relax with a good book? Additionally, seeing you read will only encourage your child more.
Let's open those books and get cracking towards another great year here at Ridgecrest Elementary. READ TO SUCCEED!
If you have questions regarding this program feel free to email our Home Reading Chair Person, Ivey Ierna at iierna@knology.net.
