AP Art Studio (IB juniors)

Goals for the week of Nov. 13, 2009:


1) This Wednesday we will have an informative sessions with writing.(bring
sketchbook, and research notes on one Japanese Printmaker (history notes and
an image of their work).  We will do an official visual art comparison for our
skethcbooks. Also bring along a copy of the Printmaking Rubrics and Reduction
Printmaking Evaluation - located in 'handout' folder on home page. 

2) Continue reduction printmaking - be prepared for the second step of the
reduction this week (pull at least 6 original prints). Try to include some
alternative printing surfaces. (tissue paper collage, rice paper, newspaper,
canvas, fabric, etc.).

Quick View:
Monday = working on linoleum (step 1 = reducing the image, embossing, and 6
prints).

Tuesday = Quick demo on how to do step 2 (further reduction and registering
the prints for the second color).

Wednesday = writing session - instruction, practice and then formal writing
for sketchbook.

Thursday = working on linoleum prints (step 2 and 3)

Friday = continue working on linoleum prints or work in sketchbook completing
the formal comparison.



Sketchbook (IWB) requirements: (due, January 13, 2010 - Second Quarter):

1) 2 integrated pages printmaking evaluation and rubrics.

2) 1 Self reflection page on our reduction printmaking project. 

3) 2 pages on criteria and critical analysis of art from different cultures or
from art history (choose from established list).

4) 20 pages from your new IM.

5) 5 Independent pages (sketches, paintings, collage, etc.)
