Homework Policy:
Math assignments are a time for practice and a time for learning from
mistakes. Students can count on having a math assignment every day, with
time for questions and discussion during the following class.
Assignments will not be graded. However, completing assignments
thoroughly and on time will be monitored daily, reflected in a separate
effort/employability grade, and will of course ultimately influence
scores. Math class will average approximately one quiz or test per week.
Because Math is a building process, students are expected to keep up
with current concepts and objectives throughout each grade period. When
lessons are missed due to extended absence students are also expected to
use the homework website or contact a classmate to read and work from
their book independently and to notify the teacher of any made up
assignments.
Please “bookmark” or make “favorites” of the homework web pages for
each teacher to make the access of assignments easier.
Extra credit will not be accepted.
Grading:
Test and quizzes will make up 100% of the grade for each quarter, with
chapter test scores weighed double that of quizzes. Quizzes and tests
may be retaken for improved credit if all related work has been completed
with adequate effort. All tests and quizzes throughout the year will be
kept in a math portfolio in the classroom.
Final Grades will be averaged from all 4 grade period percentages.
