My name is Michelle West. This is my sixth year teaching at Sarasota
Middle School. I have taught children with varying special needs for over 12
years, in Florida, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in
Pennsylvania. I attended the University of Florida (I am a BIG, no make
that a HUGE Gator fan!! ...GO GATORS!! Then I earned my degree in Deaf
Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have been married for
19 years, and have two fantastic children. I LOVE teaching and can't wait
for the adventure that each new school year brings! :-)
I am a firm believer that all children can and will learn!! It is my goal
to find what excites, interests and motivates each child and teach through
their learning styles. I believe in LOTS of positive reinforcement, goal
setting and consistency in classroom management. I want my students to look
forward to coming to school everyday and leave with a positive reflection of
their school day!
