We’ve been having a terrific time exploring the use of color in Art.
Students have learned about primary and secondary colors. They
experimented with color mixing. They also discovered how combinations of
colors can change the mood of a piece of art.
As we dug deeper into color, students created their own color wheels,
invented new colors , and worked with black and white to change the value
of the colors. Some students even created chilly and hot pictures with warm
and cool colors.
Our fifth graders will now apply what they have learned about color to
some different painting techniques. The kindergarten through fourth graders
will study finidh up our color unit and study Ancient Roman Mosaics in
February. Come by and check out examples of these projects displayed in the
Art/Music room
