Homework

Week of December 7, 2009

Dear Parents,

The winter break is near but there is much work to be done. We will
be learning about different cultures and how they celebrate this time of
year.
In addition to studying the spelling words and doing the attached
worksheets, please help your child with the following activities.
1)Have your circle or highlight all of the short ā€œeā€ words on this page.
2)Have your child decide on 2 or more jobs that they can do around the
house, (set the table, take out the trash, clear the dishes, sweep the porch,
etc.) We will be talking about responsibility in class.
3)Have your child cut out a circle from a plain piece of paper.
Decorate like a pizza then help them to cut it into halves, then quarters,
then eighths. We will be talking about fractions this week.

The spelling words for this week are short ā€œeā€ words: well, mess, fed,
said, fell, yell, spell, them, fled, and sled.

Go to http://www.spellingcity.com/ to practice the spelling words.

Sincerely,

Mr. Ethridge

Note: Students will be getting different worksheet pages attached to their
homework depending on the skills I feel that they need to practice.
