DECEMBER 4, 2009 UPDATE: Yo-Yo day was lots of fun! See the page "Yo-Yo Day! to check out some pictures! DECEMBER 3, 2009 UPDATE: Please keep sending in the Box Tops for Education. We are currently in a 'snowball fight' competition with all of the K-2 grade classes...for every 10 box tops we get to throw a snowball at another class....hee hee! We have been 'hit' 8 times! We have thrown 8 snowballs at other classes, but we need a lot more to win! Our Holiday Fun Rotation with the other Kindergarten Classes is Tuesday, December 15th. I need 2-3 volunteers for the morning and the afternoon. You can come for half the day or stay for the whole event. More information is coming soon in your child's folder. Our Class Rotation and Book Swap is Friday, December 18th, from 9am to 11am. I need 6-8 volunteers or more to make it run smoothly and be enjoyable for all. More information is coming soon in your child's folder. Volunteers are needed and appreciated everyday! Even if you just have 15 minutes before or after school, I have many prep projects that can be found in the Volunteer Box on top of the cubbies. You are welcome in the classroom anytime! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- OCTOBER 21, 2009 UPDATE: Your child has the opportunity to earn a set of NEON shoelaces. Your child needs to be able to tie their shoes WITH a double knot all by themselves. They can practice on their own shoes, or on someone else's. When they show me at Choice Time that they can tie, they will earn a pair of NEON laces. Happy Tying!!! -------------------------------------------------------------- Earth Day 2008 inspired our school to do our part to reduce the amount of trash we produce. We provide containers for the students to recycle plastic bottles and aluminum cans. We are also participating in an athletic shoe recycling program with Nike. Families are encouraged to donate old sneakers of any brand, size, or condition. These shoes will be delivered to the local Nike outlet, where they will be shipped to a Nike factory which recycles the rubber soles to make rubber mulch and surfacing for playgrounds in disadvantaged areas. Since Earth Day, 2008, we have recycled 235 pairs of tennis shoes! As your family outgrows athletic shoes of any size, please let your child put them in the gray shoe recycling containers in the front hallway. Together, we can make our Earth a cleaner place to live! --------------------------------------------------------- OTHER IMPORTANT HOMEWORK Your child is required to learn their address, phone number, and birthday. This is a difficult skill to practice at school because everyone's is different, so any practice you can do at home will be very helpful. This is a great skill to practice in the car...you can even sing your phone number or address if that helps. This will be assessed on the second quarter report card. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Extra Clothes If your child brings home a bag of soiled clothing, please return a set of "extra" clothes the next day. This saves a trip to the clinic to borrow clothing. THANKS!
Or, would you like to view and optionally restore one of these previous versions?
