ATTENTION:  We will have an oratorical contest for Hispanic Heritage Month. I can only submit one student for the M-DCPS contest. I must submit your 3 minute video recording by September 30, 2016.  Please see me if you have any questions about the prompt: Why a particular Hispanic individual, due to his/her contributions to society, should be recognized during Hispanic Heritage Month? Thank you for your contribution to the contest.

Goethe Institut Project grant  on Germany (1989 to Present). Go to the Goethe-Institut in Washington, D.C. (website) for current events and articles. See me if you are interested in participating in the Poster Session at MDC North for German Unification Day (October 3, 2016). I need your posters by October 31, 2016. See me in my office with your idea and I will give you your 3-D poster board. This is extra credit for all participants!

There will be a Teacher Work Day will be October 3, 2016. No high school classes!

WE WILL BE HAVING OUR SECOND EXAM FROM UNIT 2 ON Tuesday October 4  AND October 5, 2016. THIS WILL CONSIST OF 25 MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS, 1 LEQ  AND 1 SAQ. REMEMBER ALL TESTS ARE CUMULATIVE! Study Power Points below, Brinkley chapters 4-6, and AMSCO Chapters 4-6!

3 LEQs are due on October 4 or 5 when you take your Unit II exam. I would recommend that you visit the Gilder Lehrman website and Teachingamericanhistory.org for ALL primary documents to help you with outside information. 

Notebook check will take place from September 26-30, 2016. Read syllabus for what needs to be in notebook/binder. This will be one grade. You must also come to class prepared with paper and a pen. Thank you for your assistance!

If you are late to my class or you do not bring your Brinkley textbook or on the iPad, you will have to come to mandatory tutoring in my office. I will also call your guardians if you do not come to class on time or without paper, pens and a Brinkley textbook everyday. 

SAS North Talent Show Auditions are November 2, 2016 from 11:30-2:00 at our campus. 

Quiz on Chapter 5 will be Monday (9/26) and Tuesday (9/27), 2016. You must read Brinkley Chapter 5 and study all Key Terms/People/Places/Events and complete the Recall and Reflect on page 159. You will have 3 terms/people/places/events and 2 questions from Recall and Reflect.  Your Brinkley textbook is in your student portal. Please start reading Chapter 4 and 5 now! Watch Adam Norris Chapter 4 and 5 Brinkley videos. Here are the Power Points for Unit II: 



I sponsor SGA and Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honor Society). If you are interested in Rho Kappa I will need you to bring $10.00 to be a member.
