Classroom Grades and Homework Procedures

Grades

Students in the second grade take many assessments to prepare them for all their future testing. Next year will be the first year they take FCAT. Students take Common Assessments three times a year. The tests are summative, which means at the end of the year the goal is to show growth. These scores are shown as High Performing, Meets Expectations, and Below Expectations. These tests cover material in Reading, Writing, Math and Science.

Students also take assessments in all subjects throughout the year. These tests are graded on a 10 point or 100 point scale. These tests results are shown with the Grading System: E, V, S, N or U. These are the grades you will see on your child's report cards.

Grading System:
E: 90 - 100
V: 80 - 89
