Around the World in Postcards is a project that helps my students learn about the world around them. We ask that you send us a postcard from where you live. If you can write a little information about the place you are from, we can use that information as a learning tool. We use these postcards for lessons in Social Studies, and also use them for Reading and Math lessons. Students love receiving mail which can really help to understand the world around them. We graph how many postcards we receive, write postcard facts, sort postcards by continents, countries, and states. We also use pushins on a big world and United States map to keep track of all the places we have a postcard from. Giving students the opportunity to visit the world around them through postcards helps them open their eyes and dream big!
