My name is Ms. Ellis and I would like to introduce myself as your
child's first grade teacher. I am a graduate of the University of Florida.
Go Gators!! I am a certified teacher in Early Childhood Education as well as
Elementary Education. I'm ESOL endorsed and trained as a Clinical Educator.
I have been teaching in Broward County for 24 years. I have had the
honor of being Teacher of the Year twice in Broward County,once
in 1995 and then again in 2007. I've taught kindergarten, first and second
grade. Since I have had the experience of teaching each of these grades I know
where your child has been and where they are going. I LOVE teaching first
grade the best!
I have two wonderful children Michael and Kara who are both married and two
little Maltese puppies. My two puppies Bella and Mia keep me company since my
children are adults and on their own now.
My goal each year is to provide a classroom that is positive and
nurturing, with an enriched learning environment. I will guide your child so
that he/she can achieve to his/her fullest potential. Enhancing
self esteem through verbal praise and positive reinforcement is an intricate
part of my curriculum. I hope to inspire your child to ask questions of life
and engage in a genuine love for learning. I am dedicated to making this a
terrific year for all of my students.
