Homework
* Homework goes home every night and needs to be turned in the next day in order to receive full credit.
Your student should also be doing FCAT homework from their packet every night.
Math
We are currently working on chapter 12 time. We will be reviewing for FCAT also. Please make sure you are going over all work that goes home. Look in your student's planner for their Go Math website username and password, you can access games and the math book.
Social Studies/ Science
We are learning about famous Americans. We will read many books, watch some brain pop videos and dress up as a famous American.
Imagine IT!
You may want to visit your student's reading teacher's website as well as my website. Students will have Spelling homework as well as weekly Reading Assessments and homework.
Planner
Please check and go over your child's planner EVERY night. When they show you the completed work then you should sign the planner. We find it really helps the students get assignments completed on time when a parent checks the work daily.
Supplies
Remember, we can always use paper towels, Clorox wipes, soap, and copy paper.
R.C./Reading
Each student will receive their R.C. goal for the nine weeks. They will get this from their reading teacher. Please encourage them to read every night.
HEALTHY SNACKS
Please send one for your child to enjoy at snack time every day!
Fruit (apples, bananas, etc. fresh or in a plastic cup or dried, like raisins, fruit snack pouches or roll-ups are okay, but have lots of sugar) Nuts or trail mix,Vegetables (carrot sticks, celery sticks, etc.) Yogurt or cheese , Cereal bars or granola bars, Dry cereal, without too much sugar, like Cheerios, Fruit or vegetable juice, Water
Dismissal at 2:50
Remember our school times. Children need to be in class at 8:25 and are dismissed at 2:50.
Late arrivals and early dismissals will be counted as tardy.
For safety, all students will be escorted by a teacher to their dismissal area
(bus, van, car pickup, Extended Day Program). Parents, please do not come onto
campus to pick up your children. If they are being picked up, they will be
taken to car pickup and you may meet them there. Thank you for your
cooperation! Your child's safety is our number one priority!
Birthday Invitations
Please remember that students who are left out when you pass out invitations
feel really bad. Have your child pass out to everyone (all of class, all of
the boys, or all of the girls). If you don't plan on inviting everyone, please
find another way to do the inviting--call them or mail an invitation. Just
think how your child feels when they are left out. You are welcome to send in
goodies for the entire class and we can share them here.
Cell Phones
Parents, please refrain from talking on your cellphone when picking up your
children in the car pickup area. Thank you!!
- IF students have cell phones they MUST BE IN THE BACKPACK AND TURNED OFF. IF this is not the case, the parent will need to come to the office to get the phone.
Allergies/Health Concerns
Parents, we have a peanut allergy so please try not to send in anything with peanuts. Please make sure I know if your child has an allergy or any health
concerns.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions, would like to set up a conference, or need to discuss anything. I am always (well, almost always) available to meet with you!
Thank you for visiting our class website!
