Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had a wonderful fall break and Thanksgiving. I did some
reflecting on this school year so far. I just want to say thank you for
allowing me to teach your children. They bring a smile to my face every
day. I am thankful for your support and involvement in your child’s
education here at St John’s. Everyone is so willing to help out, and it is
greatly appreciated. I am also thankful to have Mrs. Wilson. She is such a
blessing. She loves the children, and the children love her.
December will be a busy month getting ready for Christmas, while still doing
all the academics that needs to be done. I am going to introduce new
letters and sight words more frequently. I will keep you updated on what is
introduced. This week I will be introducing the letters Gg and Ff, and the
sight words “here” and”this”.
Math - we are learning about equal parts and solving a problem using
pictures.
Reading - the theme is “On the Farm”. I am going to incorporate science
lessons about food.
Religion - we will be teaching the children about advent and the meaning of
Christmas.
We will be getting ready for our Christmas Program. The children are
learning songs that Mrs. Blankenship has given us for the program. I hope
you can all make it. It is December 16th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
Our class Christmas party is going to be December 11th at Pump it Up, from
10am – 12pm. The cost is $7 per child. If any adults would like to eat,
the cost will be $3 per adult. This includes pizza and drinks. We will need
volunteer drivers. We did this last year and it was a big success. The kids
had a great time at Jesus’ Birthday Party.

THURSDAY, DEC. 3…..All pizza money is due in today for Pizza/Dress-Out Day
FRIDAY, DEC. 4……Today is Pizza/Dress-Out Day sponsored by Student Council.
Grade 4 will begin selling baked goods on Fridays during lunch to raise
money for their Tallahassee trip in the spring.
FRIDAY, DEC. …..K4 and K5 Christmas Party at Pump it Up, 10am – 12pm. Cost
is $7 per child. $3 for adults that would like to eat.
DEC. 16………….School Christmas Program, 6:30pm – 8:30pm.
DEC 18…………...Last Day of School before Christmas break. We will go to mass
at 8:15 am Early Dismissal
(12pm).
Please note that I will be here Tuesday, Dec. 1st. I will let you know when
my placemnt date is rescheduled.
