Weekly K5 Newsletter

December 16, 2009

Dear Parents,
I am sorry that I have not updated my website earlier. We have just been so
busy this month getting ready for Christmas! We have accomplished a lot!
The children will be bringing home lots of Christmas surprises for you to
see!
We had so much fun at our Birthday Party for Jesus at Pump it Up. I would
like to thank all of you that could come and help out. We will have a quiet
Christmas celebration on the last day of school. We have mass in the
morning. One of our moms has offered to bring in pizza for the kids that
day. I am thinking about decorating cookies with the children. We will
probably watch a Christmas movie or play outside.
I hope all of you can make it to our Christmas program tonight. Our class
will be singing at 6:30pm. It takes place on the Church steps. Please
bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
I will try to get some flash cards ready for the students to go over during
the break. I know that it is a busy time of year. It would be helpful to
just practice some sight words if possible so that we can keep moving
forward in the new year.
Our sight words are:
a
come
go
I
like
he
here
my
me
to
the
this

The short vowels we have covered are; a and i

Please try to have your children practice reading and spelling words from
the an, ad, at, ap, am, ad, in, it, ip, im, in, it, id word families.
