K5 NEWS
November6th, 2009
Dear Parents,
I can’t believe that we are in to November already! This month is packed
with fun with the Harvest Festival and Thanksgiving. It is very busy around
here preparing the students for both, plus continuing our reading and math
lessons.
Please go over the following word families; an, am, ap, ad, at families with
your children. The booklet that I sent home on Tuesday is a great
resource. Reinforcement at home is very important.
Please go over sight words at home. Our sight words to date – a, I, he, go,
like, my, to, the.
We started a new chapter in math. It focuses on shapes and continues
numbers 1 – 5.
Thank you to those of you who contributed to the silent auction basket. It
is not to late to donate an item. We have two baskets; Chinese food items
and a kid basket.
Please remember to sign up to work a booth for the festival. I hope you all
can make it to the dinner on Friday, Nov.13th. Every year there is a live
auction. Mrs. Wilson and I have volunteered a night of babysitting to be
auctioned.
I will be out on Tuesday, November 17th. I will be teaching at Breakfast
Point as part of my college course work. I will also be out December 1st.
Have a great weekend!
