Homework

The children will not have a lot of homework. There is class time given to do
their math, language, social studies and science work. If they are using
their class time effectively they will bring home very little work unless
they are making up work due to absence or illness. They will have a few
things that they need to do every night as well as going thru the reviews
sent home when there is an upcoming test.

The children will have the same homework Monday thru Thursday nights.

*8tudy spelling words for quiz Friday (new spelling list sent home Monday and
udated weekly on the website)

*Read poem of the week once or twice through

*Read for 15 minutes and record reading in their reading log. If they are
reading a chapter book you would record one chapter each night until they
finish that book.

The reading log, spelling sheet and poem of the week should come to school
everyday in the front of the green folder. I will pull the reading log on
Friday night to check over the weekend and the poem of the week will be
filed in their poem folder on Friday. After the spelling test the words may
stay at home and it all starts over again on Monday. The spelling words will
also be posted online every week.

I update the website daily, by putting the the work done each day at the top
of this page. I will also post and send home the plans for the week where
tests and reviews are highlighted. If your child is absent this is an easy
way to see what they missed and what they need to make up.

I am always happy to schedule a conference with you at anytime to discuss
your child and their progress. Don't hesitate to call me at school or
contact me online with any questions or concerns.
