Parents,

Last week was shorter than any of us expected, but we still got quite a bit done.  It was a good week for review.  Now we are moving on into the next section in reading and Math.  After the Thanksgiving break we will move forward with Science and Math.  We have slowed down some with practicing the Pilgrim play and other things.

This week is very busy in Math.  We had to push the Chapter 6 Math test back because of losing a day last week.  The pre-test for chapter 6 will be on Monday and the Test will be on Tuesday.  We have finished Unit 2 in Math and are moving on to Unit 3 which deals more with Geometry.  I will give them a review for the Unit 2 test on Monday and have the test on Friday so that that doesn’t carry over after Thanksgiving.  We will begin the new chapter on Tuesday and continue it after the break.  This will be something different than we have been doing.  I’m sure the kids will like dealing with shapes for a change.

The Harvest Festival is over and it was a big success and lots of fun.  Thank you especially to Sheryl Dealy who worked non-stop on this, the Andersons and Sher Allan and Byan Johnson who worked our booth and were there from set-up to breakdown.  The children looked like they had a wonderful time and it was beautiful weather.  This is the big fundraiser for the year and the PTO will put that money into the school and classrooms so your children will benefit.

Our next big thing is the “Mini Pow-Wow” that the Grade I and 2 classes are putting on for Friday the 20th.  If you haven’t seen the other notes/invitations that have gone home it is at 1pm in the Parish Hall.  (lunch room)   The kids are looking forward to it and we are practicing!  We did it last year and it’s just a fun way to end the week before Thanksgiving break. There is a sign-up sheet outside the class for the snacks after the show.  Please help if you can.

As always you can contact me at school or at home with any questions or concerns.
