Parents,
It’s hard to believe that this is
the last week of school before Christmas break!
The time has gone so fast. I
think the kids have come so far since we started in August and we are really
going to miss Ryan as he heads to Dothan with his family. We wish them well and hope one day we will
see you again.
Since this week is a short week
we will be doing some things that are a little different. I won’t be able to cover a whole reading
lesson with the grammar and phonics so we will do literacy centers and do some
more work on possessive nouns, reading for fluency, a little geography and some
language skills building. It will be a
change and fun for this last week. It’s
hard to hold their attention right before Christmas or right before
summer!
We will finish up our Math
Chapter and introduce the next chapter which is “Fractions” we will focus on
that when we return. We will finish up
Unit 4 in Social studies with the review and test after the break. We will cover “Christmas” this week in
Religion
Mrs. Dealy has posted a sign-up
sheet outside the classroom for the party which is Friday morning after
mass. It will be a combined lunch/party
since dismissal is at noon that day. We
are still looking for some finger food.
Little sandwiches, some chicken nuggets, a fruit tray, maybe a cheese
tray would be good. I don’t just want to
fill them w1th sweets and send them home!
I have family coming into town
and time just got away from me this weekend as I spent most of the weekend
cleaning house. I didn’t get as many
papers marked as I usually do, but I will try to get them back through the
week.
