I would like to start this letter by saying how happy I am to be teaching
here at St. John's Catholic School. I started here two years ago as an
assistant teacher. During that time I was able to continue my education and
also completed my CDA certification. I am very happy to be returning in my
new role as Lead Teacher for Pre-K.
I, along with my family, am an active member at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
My family includes my Uncle Louis Escuela, my parents, Mike & Stephanie
Gagnon, three brothers and three sisters. Family has had a big influence on
my life. My father is a local business owner (Gagnon's Tire & Auto) and heads
the pro-life movement here in Panama City. My mother works as a Regisitered
Nurse and has a interior design company (Savannah Interiors). She also sits
on the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida. Their
example of hard work and Christian values has instilled in me the importance
of living with purpose.
My Uncle Louis, a retired Engineer for the Navy, has also played an important
part in teaching me the value of education and aspiring to the challenges of
life. He was also very supportive of my passion of playing basketball. I was
Captain of my girls varsity basketball team and played on the State
Championship Team my junior year. I also played on a national traveling team
and coached for Boys & Girls Club. I am very excited to be able to use some
of that experience as the new Middle School Girls Basketball Coach this
year.
Again, I can not express how excited I am to work with your children. I
believe that early education in both academics and core values are crucial to
their growth. St. John's offers the unique opportunity to start them out with
a strong foundation which recognizes God's wisdom and love.
