the past five years.
With a Master's Degree in Physical Education from Indiana University and 20+
years of teaching experience Ms. Kutner brings her exciting program
of "Gotcha Games" and "Fitness Fun" to St. John's Catholic School.
Originally from Virgina and more recently transplanted here from the
Midwest, Ms. Kutner taught at the high school level, coaching Gymnastics,
for several years before settling into a Catholic grade school program.
Her interests and activities outside of school include Dancing, Biking, Stunt
Kiting, Disc Golf, and Digital Photography. She also participates in a local
performing chorus, Harmony Shores Chorus, associated with Sweet Adelines
International.
The Physical Education program at St. John Catholic School provides
instruction for skill development and knowledge of human movement that
allows students, with different abilities and skills, to participate and
enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. It is also the goal of the Physical
Education program to develop good sportsmanship, character, and the social
skills needed by every student to achieve God’s given potential.
Goals in the K5 through 4th grade program center around opportunities to
develop basic motor skills, beginning sport skills and fitness activities in
a safe and fun environment. High levels of participation are encouraged to
enhance the enjoyment and attitudes that lead to continual activity
throughout the child’s life. Intermediate and middle school students find
increased opportunities for development of sport skills and individual
fitness activities. Health related benefits are stressed as students are
provided with higher levels of competition and game play.
