The Honors Academy is a branch of the regular education classroom and subject to the same state standards. However, the students placed in the Honors Academy will be challenged with a more rigorous curriculum, expectations are greater and students will be challenged to think at higher levels. In short, all students will be expected to work beyond what is required in the regular education classroom. Attendance is a critical factor in your child’s success in the Honors Academy. Students are expected to be on time and in class daily.
Please note that students of the 7th Grade Honors Academy move at a fast pace. As lessons build upon each other, it is critical that all assignments be turned in on time. Late assignments will not be excepted and will be marked with a zero.
It is my belief that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. Therefore, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
