About The Teacher
Welcome to our class webpage!!! :) I am sure that you might have some questions that you would like to ask me. Hopefully I will be able to answer a few of them. Here are some things that I would like for you to know about me. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an ESOL endorsement. I am working on my Masters Degree in Reading and I am also pursing National Board Certification. I have been teaching for 11 years now. I taught 5 years in Dade County Public Schools and this is my 6th year in Broward County Public Schools. Throughout these years, I have taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grades. Third and fourth grade are my favorite grades to teach. I am married to a detective named Marc, and I have a six year old son named Ryan who loves to discover and learn new things. I love to travel with my family, go to the movies, and spend relaxing time at home (when possible). I have no pets at my house, however, my parents have quite a few. They have four horses and a black Labrador named Sammy. Ryan and I love to spend the afternoons playing with all of them. I enjoy helping students be the best that they can be. I have high expectations for my students and I know that they can reach their highest potential putting forth maximum effort. I expect all class work and homework to be turned in on time and students to be at their very best behavior.
Mission Label:
Mission
My mission for this class is to develop their learning skills to their highest potential and to motivate my students to be the best that they can possibly be. I plan to address all of my student’s academic needs and interests while creating a positive and assuring learning environment. Throughout the year, I will enjoy watching them develop academically, socially, and a love for learning. Students will participate in project based learning and will aquire the skills needed to work cooperatively. Class activities will be focused on higher order thinking skills. I will also promote respect, responsibility, and accountability in order for students to be successful.
