Prepare for the 50 State Test

Once a month, for the entire year, your child will be asked to correctly
locate and label all of the 50 states (state names will be provided).
Although this seems tedious at first, students quickly catch on and become
very successful at this task. By the end of the year, students become
excited to take these tests and are eager to note their improvement. I
appreciate your patience and understanding with this assignment and promise
that it will increase your child’s confidence level and understanding as
they begin U.S. History in 5th grade. Although our first test will not be
given until mid September, it may be helpful to purchase flash cards, a U.S.
place mat, puzzle, or a globe to begin practicing at home.

(I always drop the lowest grade from the 1st marking period)

Can you name all the U.S. States? This site is for those who need a bit more
of a challenge. Type a state name into the box below. If you correctly
spell a state, it will show up on the map. Watch out...you've only got 10
minutes! Recommended by Lydia Y.
