I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. I am looking forward to
spending time with my family over this coming week. Please take time to enjoy
your family. 
Students will have their next spelling test on December 4. These are lesson 14
words. I will post the words and sentences later in the week for those who
want to get a jump start.

November 13, 2009
Spelling words for the test on Friday, November 20. These are Lesson 13 
words.       
1. depart
2. explorer
3. landing
4. location
5. lunar
6. navigate
7. stranded
8. voyage
9. mutiny
10. peninsula

    Students will have their definitions test on Thursday, November 19. Due 
to the short week the following week, students will not have spelling words. 
The next spelling test will be December 4 (lesson 14 words).

Dictation paragraph for the test on November 20:
     On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human being to step on 
the moon. Thousands watched the rocket depart on the 16th of July. The 
countdown ended: "Five, four, three, two, one. We have ignition!" The vogage 
had begun.



November 6, 2009
   Students will be having a spelling test on Lesson 12 words on Friday, Nov. 
13. The words are all from geography. Students will have their definitions 
test on Thursday, Nov. 12

Since the dictation sentences for the test on the 13th involve a list 
of proper nouns, I am also giving you the sentences ahead of time. Please see
below:
     A continent is a large land area of the earth, usually containing 
several countries. The seven continents are Africa, Antarctica, Asia, 
Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. The countries of Mexico, 
the United States, and Canada make up the continent of North America.
