TNN (Tatum News Network)

TNN NEWS

November 8, 2009
TNN has been going very well. We are now getting ready to start inviting my
2nd graders to train in the TNN studios. We will start with one new 'trainee'
a week and increase to more as the year progresses. Please be patient as we
try to match students with the many different jobs it takes to run TNN.
Students will receive a notification home the week before they are to
appear or train at TNN. That way families can enjoy the experience as well.
       Smile!

September 8, 2009
Keep your fingers crossed, we will be starting TNN on Tuesday, September 8,
2009. We are hoping that all our prep work and early equipment testing has
paid off.
For the first two weeks of TNN we will be using staffers (3rd graders) that
are experienced. After the first 2 weeks, we will start bringing in other 3rd
grade AWC students to train and work in the studio. Following that, we will
begin having 2nd grade AWC students train. Please look here for updates on
staffing and positions. We will have an updated list every 2 weeks.
                   Smile!
                    Mrs. B-C and Mrs. Wynne

TNN is Tatum's daily news program that is produced, directed, planned and
anchored by our 2nd and 3rd grade AWC students. All of my students will get
the opportunity to work in the many different areas of television production
throughout this school year.
The first few weeks of school are meant to be a time to get to know each
student and their skills. Mrs. Wynne and I have decided not to broadcast TNN
during this special time.
The AWC 3rd graders that are trained and have experience running the TNN
studios will be first to work on the daily broadcasts. Once I feel my students
are ready, they will be invited to join the TNN group. During the first few
days working with the TNN crew, trainees will 'shadow' an expert. From there,
they will train on different pieces of equipment and work on air.
I will send home notes to families to let them know when their child will
be 'live' and 'on air'.
Please be patient as Mrs. Wynne and I work to get TNN up and running. The
equipment is complicated and may take us a few weeks to get all systems
working. Please check this site for updates and for the work schedule.

                     Smile!
