Dear Parents and Students,
Monday is BOX TOPS and soup labels pickup. If you have any, please bring
them in.
I am in need of 6 washer/dryer sized boxes for our Candyland game. If there
are any parents willing to help with this, I would greatly appreciate it. The
sooner we get them, the sooner we can start constructing our game.
We go to GWIZ this week. Chaperones are Nik's mom and Dean's mom. We will
be eating at school after the trip. Students will eat snack before we leave.
I sent home conference confirmation slips on Tuesday last week. They will
be held in the K-1 Lab. Students will led them. If you are having a phone
conference, please be sure your child is on with you. Any families who
haven't signed up will have homework to complete as well as the conference
form to return by Friday. I will give out the conference forms and supplies
on Wednesday to those families. Midterms will be coming home shortly.
The Board Member of The Week is Mackenzie M. Congratulations, Mackenzie:)
Kelso Kid for the month is Katelyn W. and Tatum Techie is Kate S.
Spelling, DOL, and DOM assessments will be on Friday. Vocabulary quiz on
Lessons 11 and 12 will be on Tuesday. Students should have them in homework
section. Please begin studying.
In reading, we will be working on Fantasy Contracts, Historical Fiction
groups, "The City of Ember", and "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle."
Fantasy Contracts will be due on Tuesday. Students need to check over work
before turning their contract in.
Chapter 4: Division will continue this week. They have learned a mental
math strategy with using "friendly numbers", and the partial quotient
algorithm. We will be finishing up this unit this week. A review will be sent
home toward the end of the week.
In science, we have started Unit 5 on Motion. They will read and take notes
on Lesson 3 which involves sound tomorrow. We will review this unit on
Tuesday. There will be an open book test on Tuesday. We are using Science
Grammar and Daily Science as supplements throughout the year. We will
continue with Science Court: Inertia this week and finish it early next week.
Please see snack schedule so you know when it is your child's turn. Bring
in healthy snacks. Our lunch time is 11:50-12:25.
Agendas need to be signed on homework nights (Monday,Tuesday,Thursday).
Students need to write down their homework in their books. If it is done
early, they still should copy it down when I place in on my web page. They
can place check marks next to the items completed already so you and they
know what is left to be done.
Thank you for sharing your Board Member with me!
Have a WINNING WEEK!
Sincerely,
Director Hoermann A.K.A. Mrs. Hoermann
