Mixing Colors

We ended our color mini-unit with a tasty activity.  Students were given three piles of icing dyed in primary colors.  They used pretzel sticks to mix the primary colors to experiment with different color shades.
icinghuntdripping.JPG Hunter concentrated on getting just the right shade of color.  It was amazing how many shades we could make with just three main colors.

Lena found out it was more fun just mixing the colors with her hands.icinglenahands.JPG

Kamryn had fun, but she thought it was just a little bit messy!  What different personalities everyone has!!

Check out the shades that Troy created.  He was pretty amazed at how many colors he created!

Hudson decided to really be creative and made a statue with his mixed colors and pretzel sticks.

Skyy really got into her mixing!!!
icingsavannacookie.JPG Savanna made a spider or Thanksgiving turkey with her materials.  It almost looks too yummy to eat!
Don't you wish that you could have joined us?  We do some pretty special things in our classroom.  Who knew studying about colors could be so much fun?!?
